How to Download Digital Files from Etsy

Welcome to Paper July! These instructions cover how to download files from Etsy.

If your purchase includes a Google Drive link, please follow the instructions included in the PDF you received. There are a few extra steps to download your files.

Step 1: Go to the Etsy download page for your order

Once you place an order on Etsy, you can access your digital files in either of the following two ways. Please note that it is not possible to download digital files from the Etsy app, so make sure to use your web browser, such as Safari or Chrome, instead.

  • The email link. Shortly after purchase, you’ll receive an email from Etsy with a link to access your files. Click this link to go to the download page for your order.
  • Your Etsy account. If you were signed into an account when you placed the order, you can access the download page at any time on Etsy.com.

How to reach the download page via your Etsy account

Step 1: Using your internet browser (such as Safari or Chrome), sign into Etsy.com and click on your profile photo. In the pop-up menu shown here, click Purchases and reviews.

Step 2: Scroll down until you find your order. Then, click the Download Files button next to it.

Step 2: Download the files to your device

Once you’re on the download page, click the Download button next to a file to download it. You can then access the file in your device’s file viewer (such as the Files app on iPad).

Note: For iPad and iPhone users, a file may open in a new Safari tab instead of downloading. To download it, tap the Share (box with upward arrow) button and select Save to Files.

Step 3: Unzip any .zip files

iPad & iPhone instructions

Step 1: Open the Files app.

Step 2: Locate the .zip file and tap it. The unzipped contents will appear shortly.

Note: GoodNotes files may appear as .zip files, but they are not. Simply import them directly into GoodNotes!

Android instructions

There are multiple Android apps for unzipping files. One option is the Files by Google app. See Google’s instructions here for how to use the app to unzip files.
